All children in Three-Year-Old Kindergarten at our services this year are receiving a free Kinder Kit, including children enrolled in Early Start Kindergarten and Access to Early Learning programs.

Kinder Kits are activity boxes filled with books, educational toys and activities made especially for three-year-olds to enjoy at home. Each item in the kit is age-appropriate, child-safe and inclusive, and has been recommended by education experts to help families make play-based learning part of their child’s everyday life.

The Kits have been designed to celebrate the value of learning through play. All items in the Kit are carefully chosen to support the following five important learning and development outcomes for children from birth to eight years of age:

• children have a strong sense of identity
• children are connected with and contribute to their world
• children have a strong sense of wellbeing
• children are confident and involved learners
• children are effective communicators.
  
  

Each Kinder Kit includes a printed Guide for Families, with tips and ideas to help parents and carers guide their child’s early learning and development at home. The Guide for Families is also available online in 31 languages. Translated information explaining what early childhood education is and its benefits is also available.
