To provide additional support for their families and children, Kids on Gallaghers Child Care Centre has introduced the City of Monash Maternal Child Health Outreach Program into their service.
The Outreach Program allows families to maintain their child's Key Ages and Stages visits while the child attends childcare.
Key Age and Stage assessments are provided to children aged from birth to six years of age. These important assessments measure children's development in key areas including physical growth, development, language and speech, learning and play, and social behaviour.
Parents or a nominated family member are encouraged to attend during the Key Age and Stage assessment. If this is not possible, an educator can be present on the family's behalf and the Maternal and Child Health Nurse will provide a copy of the assessment in the child's Health and Development Record Book and contact the family by phone to discuss any concerns.
This will be a FREE service for families and all appointments will be done at the centre with Maternal and Child Health Nurse, Leanne.
