On Friday 4th August, 2023, Kids on Gallaghers Child Care Centre and Glen Iris Childcare and Kindergarten celebrated Jeans for Genes Day to raise money for the Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI).
The team at Kids on Gallaghers put on a blue-themed party encouraging everyone to wear their blue jeans. There were blue-iced cupcakes, balloons, streamers, and plenty of jean-themed activities. Even the team got involved, donning their best denim and Jeans for Genes merchandise. Don't they all look great?!
The most important aspect of Jeans for Genes Day is raising much needed funds for a very worthy cause, so gold coin donations were collected by both teams. 1 in 20 children faces a birth defect or genetic disease, like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and life-threatening metabolic disorders. That's 12 children born every minute worldwide. Our donations help the CMRI find treatments and cures.
2023 is a milestone year for Jeans for Genes as they are celebrating 30 years of helping to save children's lives! In that time, millions of Australians have taken part and donated a combined total of $63.5 million for medical research.
